1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Any drivers having this problem

Happened to me. I was offroad from 00-07. Tried to get back into a truck and the only company that would hire me without requiring me to go to school was Swift. Had to ride with a trainer for 3 weeks, which in itself is humiliating, BUT I did what I have to do to satisfy their insurance and get my foot in the door.

I dont even think Swift is offering that right now. TMC website says they do it but I dont think they are even offering it currently.Maverick isnt they are requiring current OTR.

I've been of the road now for about 20 mths (went local then got laid off then a crap co.) and have been sitting on my thumbs for the last 8mths. Am I still hireable for the road because I sure can't find anything local in St. Louis with one million miles and Never a ticket or accident. Any thoughts??

In my eyes you are, but the criteria seems to have changed lately.
I would prefer a stable fellow your age over a lot of candidates, but everything seems to have shifted.
Hit and miss right now, but there has to be something out there, just may not be exactly what you want.
