1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks for the advise you are kinda right on the money my husband is not that crazy about my uncle and the only way we can get the trucks is if we have other drivers avaible to drive them, I just want to be able to talk to someone on a regular about the industry besides my uncle.

I get what she wants now.You have to train them plus bring frieght with you. She wants to see what kinda frieght you have for them to haul. Owner operator take your truck with you too that way they dont have to supply anything.

I understand that, and I would love to see you successful. Sounds like a decent gig, BUT...

    (please read this carefully)
ONE BONEHEAD DRIVER CAN SINK YOUR SMALL FLEET. You stand to lose EVERYTHING!!!!. You just dont put a couple trucks on the road and start forking out money to drivers. Bonehead drivers will sell the fuel, call in about flat tires and hit you for $500 a shot, deliver late, run over small houses, piss off your customers, and get the department of transportation on your ####!

You need to be able to see these things coming. Thats why I suggested to you that you truck for a bit at an entry level trucking company. You will be right in the middle. You will clearly see the distinction between a decent driver and a piece of trash holding a CDL when they come straight out of trucking school.

Youre a woman. There are 2 types of women drivers: Ones who absolutely love what they do, and the others who are satisfied with the barefoot and pregnant mentality. The ones who love what they do usually put more effort in perfecting their craft than most men. The others with the barefoot and pregnant mentality are willing to always depend on a man to fix their problems for them.

I'm not suggesting that you be some butchy manhating, bra-burning goobersmoocher, but to take a real interest in what you are doing and apply yourself to your business.

That's good advice what my husband plans to do is go drive for cr England soon mean while my uncle is going to lease one of the trucks on with eagle and do croos road. As, for me I will be putting together a business plan for when he is experienced.

I didnt ask for any one to bring their trucks or fright . all I asked is for someone experienced to join our team my uncle will be the only driver at this time however, he may need some one to work with him to keep the truck moving when he can't.

That right there is the smartest thing to do. Let your husban get the driving experience, (without it your insurance rates would be extremely high), have him listen to everything that is said out there (but only belive half of it), let your uncle run his truck and hopefully make some $$ and you need to read everything you can about the industry.
