Rand McNally IntelliRoute TND 500
The newest among trucking-specific GPS nav devices wont be available until early next month, but Rand McNally, longtime commercial routing tools provider and the maker of the Motor Carriers Road Atlas, has brought out one dynamic trucking unit in the TND. Not only can it route on legal routes according to your trucks dimensions and load, but it comes with a log-book function; the ability to track and store mileage information not only for trip planning purposes but for IFTA reports; a commercial-quality address book; route optimization for fuel efficiency, time and distance; and a wide zoom on the touch-screen display. The Intelliroute TND also includes some of the features of GPS-functional communications technology, such as the ability to provide your own and see others reviews of businesses along your routes, all of which updates through your personal computer when you connect to the Internet (sources say wireless data connectivity will be an available function of the unit itself in the near future).
Price: $500
And according to the website, you will be able to cross reference your road atlas with the GPS. I wonder what took McNally so long. They have been showing people the way to go longer then anyone. Can't wait to see what/who is next.
