I think it's nice you can save a dollar after spending a bunch on them things. I prefer my wheels left as they are open at the factory so the airflow can get through them in the mountains. Among other things. Some of these hills are stiff and steep and you can throw away fuel lifting your rig up and over.
Aerodynamic wheel covers....

simple. If your doing the same run every day (plus/minus 500 lb.) on the same road. Same fuel stops you know when you fuel you will know within 3gl. How much fuel it will take to fill up. I check it on every fill up. Mpg per tank, avg pre week, avg per 2 weeks, avg per month. 2 months, 3 months... you get the point.
I put the REAL WHEELS covers on. That was the only thing that changed. And my mpg went up per tank, per week, per month... -
I don’t think your calculations were accurate. I’d take at the very most the tests done by the manufacturer or third parties, and then reduce the results a bit as they wouldn’t hesitate to exaggerate the results to increase their sales.
If your results were really true, we’d see all mega companies jumping on it as we see in the case of trailer skirts. Now that is a much more significant fuel savings as you’re covering a huge hole under the trailer.spyder7723 Thanks this. -
thats if they dont fall off before those 10 years go bybzinger, spyder7723, swaan and 1 other person Thank this.

Or if they don’t steal them as most wheel covers in the market don’t come with locks and can be removed in seconds.Fredterbert6666 Thanks this.

I have a new set that I will sell at as discount. I never got around to installing them. They are a different brand and black in color but they are still in the box. Send me a message if you want some more info.
PE_T Thanks this. -
If I were you, I would install them ASAP, but before you open them make sure they will work on your wheels because there are various sizes. If yours are the FlowBelow brand, they have several videos on how to install them. It looks easy.

Never seen those at the chrome shops. I’ve done waaay to much polishing on my wheels, to put those hideous looking things on my W9’s.
JonJon78, bzinger, spyder7723 and 2 others Thank this. -
Try this test keep track of your fuel economy from Jan to March then on April 1 put a lucky penny in your cup holder and track April to June .. 99% of people will pick up a few tenths ..
