What's that called?

I'm not exactly sure what the name for them is. They are anti slobber exhaust manifold slip joint seals.
There made to absorb the extra fuel slobber then burn off when the manifold gets good and hot later. -
Cat just calls it packing.
joey8686, Dino soar, Wheeljack and 1 other person Thank this. -
I have always called them "diapers". I'm sure its slang though.

I thought they were called slip joint packs.

I believe that is an old part that may be obsolete. The newest updated part is a white wrap 1" wide that looks like insulation. You will need the clamshells and clamp to match the new gasket. They are pricey and a PITA to install. I usually put em on with the manifold on the bench.spsauerland and The Biggest Dawg Thank this.

A Full tilt manifold is the best solution. Cat Chinese ones aren't as good as the old ones that used to be cast in USA.
joey8686 Thanks this.
