I did indeed called George and Don from orientation idiots, and possibly worse. While it may not have been particularly respectful I was being honest. They treated people like trash and I've got no tolerance for that. At any rate, I appreciate the well wishes from everyone here and I'll be popping in from time to time to say hello. I'm not going to lose any sleep because bangngears and strnspeed don't like me.

I delivered a load of steel to Indianapolis this morning and turned my truck in at the terminal. Called and rented a car last night, took a cab to the airport to pick it up drove back to the yard and emptied the truck then went over the securement gear and goodbye. Was pretty smooth, a LOT smoother than checking the truck out in the first place. Anyhow, my time at TMC is officially over for the time being.

Is the yard still packed with tractors and trailers? How many quit recently? When I quit I asked how many recently quit and they said about 6-10 in 2 days, one fo the reasons the yard was packed. Did they make you sign any papers? Also watch ur pay to see if they take anything off for whatever reason, they did take some off mine.

I saw a few TMC trucks today and got to missing it a little, they are some nice trucks.

Good luck to ya and hope to see ya post here still cplmac2

    cplmac2,

Good luck on your new endeavor. A Teamster driving job will always be better than any OTR job. We both know that. It is a shame that TMC used the "DAC" threat. DAC is a joke! These companies can put anything they want to on there just to make life miserable for you. And how much of that, which they put on there, is true? Sounds like they are just bitter. I don't know why? Think of how many other drivers are just waiting to fill your shoes when you leave. Hundreds? Thousands?

I hope that there are no more layoffs in your future at your company and that you have many happy years there. It's kind of funny (and sad) that, if you look at this site, only Union companies lay off drivers when it gets slow. You don't see any OTR companies laying people off. At least I have never heard of any. And why would they? They have so many people quitting, there is no need to lay off drivers. Their revolving door is well greased. Typical OTR company.

    Good luck.

    Drive safe

    cplmac2 Thanks this.

Thanks numbers, I'm sure it will go well back at the old company. I was there for years and know people from top to bottom in the company and I'm looking forward to going back. A union job is the way to go if you are not an owner operator. I'm already vested in the pension, just building it up now. As for the DAC threat, I called my team leader on Tuesday and asked him to send me an e-mail (not on the QC) stating that I had given proper notice and he was good enough to send out right away. That was for my piece of mind so I could fix my DAC if he decided to burn it.

The yard in Indy is always packed (not nearly big enough) but it didn't look like it was any more packed than usual. I did sign the securement gear paper because I looked at my original check out sheet and I was actually missing 2 racks, 2 mats and a 2" strap so I have no problem paying for them again. The total was just under $50, not a deal breaker in any way. I was really trying to leave on good terms.

The securement equipment. TMC says that we get $10 to tarp because the rest pays for tarps and securement gear.

Today was my first day back at the old company, I'm training and hoping to be done and tested out by Wednesday. I'm pulling a dry tanker with cement, fly ash and slag. The day went well and I'm confident I can be back to earning money by Wednesday.
