Forgot to mention Opie trying to drive me into tornadoes in Mississippi. I think I just missed them though.

 

My dispatcher is Pat, but surprise, surprise he's never the one that's around when this crap happens. This morning it was Jay. It's like they can't even be bothered to check to see if a driver is trying to get home before assigning a random load from the board.

They finally had another driver drop a beer load going to Athens, OH in Trenton for me to pick up and get me close enough to the house to deadhead home.

Shouldn't be as much of a problem once I go back out. Because now I need to stay out longer than I have been so I can pay for this house.

 

Yeah, sometimes the loads the other guys give are really perplexing. Like, hey, you do know this routes me thru Atlanta rush hour but there is no other time I can do it because of my 14, delivery time, and my 70 remaining, right???

Wondering what I should do right now. I'm in Gainesville, GA. I have 1:33 left on my 70 until getting back just under 11 at midnight. I can't get to cartersville...not sure if I should hit ready for dispatch and Opie can set me up for my return trip home for Christmas.

 

I would go.ahead and do it. But I wonder if maybe that's what I am doing wrong and getting these effed-up loads from People Who Aren't My Dispatcher (tm).

Like Wednesday night. Dropped in Trenton, at 2230 with onlly an hour and a half on my clock. Hadn't planned on moving that night but was hoping my load home was.waiting for me over at the brewery so I could go ahead and grab it before going to bed. So I hit macro 4. I'm wondering if maybe I shouldn't be sending a ready call when what I am looking for is either the load home or to be told to grab an mt and head home.

They understandably don't like deadheading me home from Trenton due to the distance but they have a time or two when there's nothing available to get me closer to home.

 

Yeah, same idea there. If I can grab something and still get parked for bed id like that. Always hoping the dispatcher understands that.

Opie hasn't done me wrong yet with that.

 

Hope everybody had a good Christmas! I'm going back out in the morning. How's the freight situation in Millisland right now?

 

No idea I've been home since Monday and not going back out till Dec 30th.

Well since you're home there should be plenty of freight out there!

 

I’ve been running straight through since before Tgiving and have had nothing less than 2500 per week. Bumping 3000 every week. No complaints here.
