I would call the company. I believe that some co's are okay with it and some aren't. I've read on here that there are drivers with sleep apnea, but they use a cpap machine.

you could always just forget to tell them.....they don't know what you don't tell 'em
-
I don't believe it's the law yet, but my company has directed the doctor giving physicals to ask us questions about trouble sleeping to determine if we have Apnea.

Nobody knows if you don't tell them, right?

Now, if I felt it was something that could affect my driving, I would say something. But I've been dealing with this for 20 years now, and I've never had an incident that made me feel I couldn't drive. So to hell with the doc. -
I just had a FedMed physical about two weeks ago, and it was on the questionnaire about medical history. It was a subheading of Sleep Problems, yes or no?
Of course, you have to sign off on that "true and correct to the best of my knowledge" line once you've checked all those boxes...so "omitting" that info is probably not the safest or best idea.
Going back to what's been said, having the tech or gear to alleviate the apnea issue is the best way to solve the problem. -
When I worked for PAM this whole sleep apnea crisis started. From what I heard, don't tell them you have sleep apnea until after you're fully hired. Then they're stuck with you and your medical problems. If they know beforehand, they might disqualify you for another reason.
Sleep apnea is just a big scam, a sleep apnea machine maker paid off the DOT so he could sell more machines. That's just my opinion, maybe you believe government officials can't be bought off. -
thankes to every one for the replys
