Marion is a customizer of trucks, and yes the Marmons was what I was thinking of originally, is probably that dyslexia kicking in.
At one time PA was full of Marmons.

One time I was in Connecticut delivering, and there was a guy there that was from Maine.
I said, "what kind of a truck do you have?"

Iirc marmons were basically hand made with off the shelf parts, that could be purchased at any truck parts place. I do know they were well built and have a couple of friends that still run one. One of them has a C 15 in his now.

I drove a truck just like that, only single sleeper. It was ok, nothing I would consider special, my Pete, I thought, was a nicer truck. Sure got a lot of comments on the CB. "Look Harry, there goes one of them Mormon trucks" . I think they used IH cabs.

HAHAHAHA. I always thought of them as Quaker trucks over here. Put them together with this that and something else and roll em.
One day no more marmons. I don't understand their demise. -
I read, the market had gotten too competitive, ( a certain V word truck comes to mind) and their lack of dealer network was the kiss of death. I think 1997 was the last year. I believe they were made in Denton, Texas, probably a Mitsubishi plant now,,
Captain Mudsocks and x1Heavy Thank this. -
