I use a Garmin 45 dashcam. Even though it is twice as expensive at Love's as Amazon, I bought it for reward points so it was free to me. I've been thinking about getting a couple more to record my mirrors.

GoPro is ok. They don't have the storage to record for very long. They work well for general recording but don't do well for a dash cam.

They don't record for very long, they don't loop record overwriting whatever you don't want to save. They just record all the time and it will fill up your storage too quickly. You can't even pull an 8 hour stint before needing to clear the storage... Not good for a driver.

A cheap dedicated "dash cam" is better as it only saves what you want it to. You don't need to stop and babysit as much.

Not too cheap, the data seems to be easily corrupted with the cheap units.

Yea the gopro would probably be a pain to use. I already have one that I never used so I thought I try it as a dashcam then probably get a normal one that loops. I found a few for around 50$ that arent too bad. Ill probably get one
