Sorry what did you say everyone else walked on you!

I am running a General Lee with a Browning. I am doing this without a linear. I must admit, I would not mind using a linear. I feel that it is all about personal choice. I have been walked on and I have also walked on others. The driver courtesy no longer exists, and that is a fact. The linear has a specific function, just as you windshield wipers. When used outside that specific function, the result usually is not good. When I am down in a valley and can't get over the ridge, bring on the heat. Outside of that, my GL and its 60 watts of barefoot power is plenty.

Does anyone run skip anymore? and if so, how? I and not sure how to do skip. I bought my General Lee for those capabilities and I would like to talk to people EVERYWHERE.

Skip is a function of the ionosphere, it's not something you can buy or throw a switch. When conditions are right your signal bounces, or skips along the upper atmosphere, instead of just to the edge of the local 3-5 mile horizon. By opening your squelch or listening on other channels, you may be able to tell when skip is happening. Hearing a distant CB shop is a good sign. It is also a function of sunspot activity, which has been down for over a year, but is starting to pick back up.
Candyman1970 Thanks this. -

If you are looking for skip, get off 19. go to channel 28 which is one of the more popular channels if you hear people talking skip there then you can run around the others and have fun. And you can try C band channel 36 which is 26.915 which is another very popular skip channel.

Oh yeah almost forgot....if your radio has SSB, Ch 38 AM LSB is a common skip meeting area.

Hey Killroy, I checked out channel 36 on C the other night but wasn't picking anything up over on my way.
