I been meaning to get by there again. Last time I was there they didnt have the bug fancy building they got now.

My parents took my kids up north on vacation when they were young and decided to go up into Canada for a day.

Trying to come back in they realized none of the kids had id's and they had no paperwork saying they had permission to have them. They had a heck of a time getting them back across. This was all before 9/11.

 

Its really nice now they did a great job with it.

 

I used to run up into Ontario, and I don't remember even having to show my drivers license either direction. I went to Niagara Falls for a day with my ex and oldest daughter when she was a toddler, I don't think we had to show anything then? The world sure has changed a lot since 9.11

 

I've only been as far east as Kenora, Ontario (basically the first city you hit after you cross into Ontario from Manitoba). Western Ontario is quite beautiful too.

 

Its a beautiful area but too touristy for me personally. The Icefield Parkway (between Jasper and Banff) is probably the most beautiful area I've ever driven thru.
