    Hello!

Any info on how this company operates? Especially for a local driver not located in Michigan? I would be in southeast Missouri and work from the Bertrand, mo terminal.
I'm curious how the company may be because the indeed reviews are absolutely horrid. Google reviews are mixed as well.
    Thanks for any help!

I worked at the Spring Hill TN location. I was the senior driver in about 3 months because the turn over was that high. I would not recommend them to anyone and have made a habit of bad mouthing them to who ever will listen.
But that's not what your looking for so I will try to be helpful...
Every location works different as they are serving that locations dedicated customer. You will have a local TM but dispatch comes out of Michigan. The trucks are always first come first serve for daycabs and the otr guys are advised to clean out all personal belongings whenever they get out of the truck. Mostly easy work and good money but the company will attempt to drain your very soul.

It's steady work at least. Ok pay for automotive freight. Not the best, far from the worst.
At least they are legal in how they pay, including medical and vacation time.

Their trucks tend to be older, but at east at our shop they were well maintained. If it was a DOT issue it was fixed , no problem. Other stuff like cosmetics are less quickly fixed.

There are two different positions. A lane driver, and a casual driver. A lane driver has an assigned lane they do everyday. I.E. go to pick up axles and bring them to the plant. Casual fills in for land drivers and added runs. You'll get a lane when one opens up after someone quits.

I believe that location is dispatched out of Byron Center, MI. Much better there than dispatched out of Flint. The Flint terminal manager is a royal a-hole and he prefers his dispatchers to act the same way....

Really the hardest part of the job is it's trip pay. Some days that's good as if everything falls right it's a short day. Of course if the plant fork truck drivers are crying they have to pick up one more rack today than scheduled it can add 5 hours to the unload time....

Thank you so much, @ZVar !
I have actually been offered 2 separate runs. One is Bertrand to Indianapolis and back. I've been told there are always trailers to take at bertrand and I'll never wait at Indy, that there will be parts waiting for me. I can start as early as I like and have my own truck, since it's 640 mile trip a day.
The second run is a simple Bertrand to winztville Missouri and back to the terminal. Starts around 10-11pm and is usually a 8-9 hour run but as you stated, it's a gm plant and we know it could go wrong at any time.
I loved my relay I had at Autobahn but I can't stand waiting on someone at both ends. So the drop and hook of the Indy run sounds good.
I'm not happy about 6 days a week but I know that there are gravy runs at bertrand, so I would just have to wait and pounce.
How bad are the cameras? I've heard if the wind blows and you hit a rumble strip, you'll get a call from safety.
Also, is it true the trucks are set to 68mph?

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.

    Thanks @z32sean !
See, your story matches up with most of the 146 reviews left on indeed. A lot of bad stuff comes from dispatch. Apparently, they are the rudest and most vile people you deal with.
I'll be honest, I don't do good with mouthy, know it all people. I tend to set people straight quick and so far in my years, it's only happened a few times. I'm usually easy going and will go with the flow. I will not, however, put up with disrespectful people who think they know the job like us drivers do.
You information is much appreciated. Im set up for orientation Monday but I've been on the fence since the first of December.

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.

I honestly never got called by safety When I was there the safety/compliance depart was very understaffed (and I was there several years, so cant see it changing). They simply didn't have time to harass drivers unless it was a major issue. Now the terminal manager also gets emailed the recordings and I did get called in once by him, but I have to admit I was not being as professional a driver as I should have been... :)
Now your manager may or may not harass you, I've never been to that terminal or heard much about it.

Most of that is like the guy you replied to. The dispatch out of Flint (which does Spring Hill) is a bunch of lying a-holes. The times I've dealt with Byron Center or even Windsor I've never had a problem with dispatch.

Well awesome, I think I'll give them a chance then!
Do you happen to know if 68 is the correct speed for the trucks? I'm assuming I'll get a day cab but the TM said I'll probably be able to grab whatever is available, since I'll be assigned to it.

    Upinsmoke Thanks this.

You'll get the worst truck as all the good ones will be taken. but that's the price for being the low man on the totem pole.
I'm not sure there is a company policy on truck speed or not. I know I've driven trucks set to 62, up to no limiter. Although the no limiter didn't last long thanks to another driver getting a speeding ticket.
I honestly don't remember what most of the trucks were set at.

Home terminal. Orientation is simply paperwork. I did a ride along for two days, then started my route.
