    Most 5th wheels are 500 pounds a notch. It will put 500 more on your steers, but the situation you described sounds like it will also move 500 more onto your drives. Some are 250, my Volvo was 250.

    I deal with that constantly. Very seldom do I put a full fuel load on. Always bumping 12K on my steers.

    If you move it up it may add some to your steers and less to your drives.. I don't have my notes here but the trucks I used to drive, each notch would be about 250 lbs... if my memory is right.. but not sure..

    What I meant is that when you move that 5th wheel, it will change the weight between the steers and the drives... doesn't do much to your rear. So... it will add to your steers and reduce from your drives... if I understood you correctly..

    My Volvo slid real easy. Casper has a sliding 5th wheel, but it's been frozen in place since I bought him. The pins will release, but she won't slide.

    And one more thing.. I would try moving 2 notches forward... since you are only 11300 on your steers...
