iv been at the San Diego terminal for the past 3 days and I haven’t found a good load. Is it the start of slow season?

Been driving OTR for 8 months now.

    A good load?

    So you did find loads.

Be cheerful on the most junk crappy filthy load and smile at your dispatcher in prosperity and joy. Maintain that morale around them.

The good loads that excite your blood and gets it stirring as it did in your youth once will get moving again when the happy dispatcher hands you a gravy run. For not quitting, complaining or whining etc. (Do that on your own time lol)

Lol yeah I heard that before. I never call to my dispatcher and complain, I don’t think that will get anything done. I’ll take the crap loads, but if it’s been a full week of loads less than 250 miles then It gets really annoying (and this happens a lot) . I mean I hear people that are 4 months in and they have there whole week planned with loads? It’s got me scratching my head man haha.

New drivers are always kept busy. Then, at 6mos, you're not a new driver anymore and the miles drop. After 6mos you begin 'proving' yourself and, if you succeed, miles pick back up again.

God we should shackle all dispatchers to the same pay as their drivers.

What the driver makes or does not make, so goes the dispatcher with the same low pay or no pay.

Maybe so. In some places the dispatcher would have to take a pay cut if he wanted the same pay as the driver.
A good dispatcher is harder to find than a good driver.
