Not necessarily. There is a farm back home where 4 are stored. Two in running condition.
I knew there was a reason I had you on my list and try to be nice to you but you take cheap words at me. What a shame. I guess we will never do well no matter what truck it is old or new. -
I suppose you're right, but most guys coming out of school today won't even see a manual transmission, let alone a 2 speed rearend. It's too bad you have also forgotten the times I've had your 6.

Last one I saw was in an early 80’s F800 Ford with an 8.2 Detroit.

I'm still running one in our Chevy C70.....
I started out in a GMC 9500, typical screaming jimmy w/a 10 RR, switched out to Mack U, w/a Mack 300 & Mack 5 spd Maxi-torque, talk about re-learning how to shift.....x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Light duty single axle axle trucks with 2 speeds were quite common,Heavy haul trucks and some log or off road trucks also had 2 speeds, but not all that common in most areas and hardly ever in a road truck.
I guess I should not even mention th eaton 3 speed rears. lol
You will find that you need to shift different on every hill depending on what grade it is, on many of the hills I run, if you let it pull down just a hair too much, you go ahead and grab 2 gears instead of one.
