Molson Coors closing Irwindale brewery

Buddy of mine was loading there yesterday and said that they (whole plant) shut down to have a company meeting, afterwards the employees were saying how they were just told about the deal.

I know an owner who's company generates millions of dollars in shipping revenue every year from that plant. That's going to hurt.

 

4.8 million barrels is a lot freight.

 

I wouldn't be surprised to see Milwaukee close one of these days and shift things to trenton ohio .
It's old and landlocked where as trenton is wide open ..and non union.
Milwaukee also reeks of apathy...went it in the Saturday morning before xmas to pick up a trailer and 2 of the 4 people at the outbound gaurd shack were sleeping.
I strongly suspect my miller days at Milwaukee are numbered.

 

Beer sales are changing I think craft beers are taking market share from the big guys. Change is constant.

 

Companies are leaving California as soon as possible. High taxes and regulations along with an anti business attitude is the reason why.

 

Used to race speedway and dragstrip there back in the 70's early 80's (BB) before Beer. Nad next Pabst Blue Ribbon....

 

Used to race there with Bruce Penhall & Micheal Bast, and Allan "Crazy" Christian. 500cc's and no brakes. There and Ascot.

 

that brewery makes donkey's pis and not beer... same as anhauser's plants.
Viva Mexican, German, Czech beers.
