I will check that tomorrow. Today it started and ran fine. It seems to be worse after driving the truck.

MY APU WILL NOT REGEN IT SHUTSOFF AND SAY DPF HEATER FAIL...HAD APU SERVICED AND FILTER CLEANED STILL SAME ISSUE...ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT THE PROBLEM MAY BE?
-
APU wont stay running. No check engine lights. Might run for 2 minutes might run a hr. But then just shuts off. Hard to start as well. New fuel lines new filters
-
Hard to start in what sense ? I have seen these give a hard time starting after filters were changed and sometimes indicates a weak fuel transfer pump. But....... when it shuts off does it just shut off like you shut it off (like it shut itself down electrically) or does it sound like its starving for fuel ? I've seen several of these run intermittently with a bad alternator so the control module sees RPM signal intermittently and when the signal is totally absent it shuts down. I did have the benefit of working in a fleet so if a part was questionable we could swap it out with a known good one to prove or disprove an alternator or control module etc.
-
P.S. Alternator can cause hard start also if it doesnt see RPM signal and will hold starter engaged sometimes when it does start.

Alternator is easy to check for. If it starts then suddenly stops. You'll want to disconnect the purple and brown plug on the alt. Start your Apu. If it stays running then it's most likely your alternator (without going through the process of checking voltages on the brown and purple wires.) Your hard start could be a few issues. Air purged from your fuel lines, worn glow plugs. It's easy to just rattle off what it could be, but without diving into and getting my hands dirty these are just a few typical things I usually see.

Hello everyone. Have problem with comfort pro. It shuts down at night and won't start. I checked next day and found generator loose belt, tighten up and started up. It starts, but make some strange grinding sound! I don't know if it safe to run Apu not damaging it? And also I found on button of Apu some little pieces of metal. Any idea ? Thanks

Sounds to me like the generater bearings are failing.

Thanks for reply, does it mean I need new generator or it can be fixed..
