This place has turned into a mess since the dive across the street closed down. Parking lot is full of local trucks and dropped trailers. Last Tuesday and today I stopped for fuel around 5pm. Both times I had to park at the fuel island so I could shower. Today the shift manager said something to me about where I parked, and when I said maybe the drop trailers need to go all he said was “we may need to address that”.

I really like this place but may need to get fuel elsewhere until they get their lot under control.

Yeah I used to like stopping there for lunch and a shower when I'd turn and burn back out but gave up on it for the same reasons you mentioned .
Was nice when it first opened and you could at least find a spot on the south 40 but it's full of junk and rock haulers .....and the eastern euro's that have moved into the area .
Sapp bros at the 440 the same last time I was in there too .
Isnt really a good truckstop left across 80 in Nebraska or iowa other sapps in Odessa and that's debatable.

That's amazing to me Mr LongFLD. Surrounded by piles of trucks is Manager, you show up legit to do business that involves spending a dollar and he flames you about whatever sins you may or may not commit.

I just as soon as put this staffer to the retirement pasture and find someone less... gung ho going after humans who take a minute and stop in there. That breaks my heart a little bit. There is a old saying we used to have not only blow the man down in Baltimore but to bounce the rubble as well. Is that what that manager is looking for today?

Just half tempted to hotten up a dollar or tow and have some fun up that way. //slight snark mixed with playtime...

Why have we now accepted that it is Ok to park at the fuel island to take a shower just because the lot is full?
In my book it is never acceptable and never will be!

In my book it is because I spend anywhere from $4-600 a week there buying fuel, not to mention our other 40 trucks that fuel there. And if they want to keep my business they’ll let me park long enough to shower or run all the freeloading local trucks out of the lot. It’s their choice.

So if the guy waiting behind you to for his chance to fuel because everyone else has your attitude, it's tough cookies?
What if his company has 50 trucks and spends thousands there each week?
Using your logic he should make you move because he is more "important".
Just do the right thing. MOVE.

There is nobody behind me. Usually there are only trucks at the first 2-3 islands, the rest are open. It’s not a chain so the big fleets avoid it. If you stop during the day now there are usually trucks parked in the last two islands out by the Cat scale anyway. So you just land and do your business. If they were truly concerned about it they would clean out their lot. There’s a dropped cattle trailer across from the fuel island that hasn’t moved since before Christmas, the back row is full of trucks in various states of disrepair, Hirschbach is using their place like a drop lot. If they don’t care about their lot being full of non-paying customer junk then the people that do spend money there will continue to tie up a pump or two during the day to shower or eat. If it’s night after the shop is closed I’ll nose up to the wash bay door or one of the shop doors like I’m waiting for them to open because by that point there are usually guys sleeping out in the islands by the Cat scale.
