I got my private license when I turned 16 (many years ago) and used it for a while, but never renewed it. Now, with the uncertainty of what's going to happen and who's going to be taking care my FIL's farm, I've been thinking hard about going back and getting it again. I'm sure a lot has changed in the last 30 years as well.

 

Yes we have hired a plane in to help with spraying if we get behind or the ground is too wet for the ground rig.

The place where we buy chemicals at has a couple planes.

 

What’s required license wise to fly an airplane in the agricultural world?

 

Don’t sweat it. The private applicator license is still open book ! Lol

 

That, I'm not certain of. I would assume a private pilot license and a commercial applicator license.
Having a few screws loose is probably another requirement.

gotcha. Wasn’t sure if they’d need a certain hour requirement beyond a base private license or what have you.

There’s a wholesale supply company I see around here occasionally that has about a 10’ customized shipping container mounted on the front of their flatbeds.
