Pull the rubber back with one hand grab the strap with the other. It’s not rocket science and that trailer is exactly like every other one on the road.blairandgretchen Thanks this.

Like you said Kinedyne stopped making them so you probably can't buy them anywhere.
Take you old worn out straps to a place like TarpStop in Lake Station, IN or TriCity Canvas in Granite City, IL. They can make you new straps using your old hooks.
Your other option is to add a tie bar yourself under the side of the trailer. Take a standard flat hook and crush it until it just barely fits your new tie bar and it should be easier to slip it through the flap on your rails.baha, 1951 ford, OLDSKOOLERnWV and 1 other person Thank this. -
The way it it is there isn’t enough room without forcing it through with a hammer. Our transcraft has plenty of room but not this manac.

I agree on all points. I’m gonna get in touch with tarp stop. Thanks.

I have never seen any like those, but you might look on iowa 80's site, they have about every strap configuration that you can think of, probably not those though. lol

Regarding waterproofing or more accurately, frost proofing straps I've thought about using a spray like Camp Dry. Never tried it though. It would probably take a couple of cans to do all the straps and have any effect. I can just see myself going into the office for.a reimbursement for 3 cans of boot spray!
jsnell Thanks this. -
You can put the too wide strap ends in a big vice and mash them in so they will slide past rub rail, then bolt a long steel like a outer rub rail on a steel trailer to the under side cross members so that the hook will stay in place

Get a 12 inch piece of 3/8 chain and fasten it around the pipe spool, then you can use a strap with the chain end on it.
