To the original poster. Look I can't remember all your questions. But here goes. Leaseing on with land star. They are and will continue to be a huge pia. When it comes to safety and thier other rules. And they leave you very and I mean very little wiggle room.
Heres the how ever.
You go home when you want. Or when you can afford to do so.2) you only have to take one load every 60 days to keep your lease open.3) They pay every Friday On all runs turned in by Wednesday. 4) you book your loads, So if you dont like it. It's on you 5) fuel and tires huge discounts.6) You can pull a certain Cash advance. On confirmed booked loads for fuel only. 7) dot inspection every 120 days. If you pass land star pays it. Not you. This truck has never failed.8) some shops are crooks. Some drivers are liars. Take it with. Grain of salt.
Personal convayance. You get two hours in 24. Never go over and you will never here from them. Me...well I live four hours away so I can't currently use mine for one year.
But now understand you dont work for land star. You work with land star. After your first 90 days you not ever here from them unless your in trouble. Its your truck. It's your ###. If them being strict scares you. Then rethink it right now. Because thier guide lines is why some people have not died out here.
That posted that said l/s only cares about money. Is dead right. Its your truck
Its your money.
But let us know more about you, are you llc.

First
I'm not leased on to landstar. But when you have their name on the side, you are operating under thier authority. They can dictate the fitness of equipment with thier numbers on it.
Second
If you cant afford licence plates, you cant afford to own the truck. Never, ever run company plates. Something goes bad, they pull the plates and your stuck. Normally cheaper to purchase your own anyhow.starmac and feldsforever Thank this.
