I’m currently applying to some companies to start my cdl training. Do I have to disclose all moving violations in the past few years even if they were taken off my driving record in court?

    Thank you in advance.

I think you have to have been found guilty, as it were. Getting a ticket does not mean it was resolved yet. Sounds like yours was resolved in your favor?

No points went against my license, but I’m not sure if the violation will still appear on my MVR.

    How old are the tickets?
Get a copy of your MVR and see exactly what's on there.
Trucking company will check your MVR to ensure it matches what you listed on your job application.

Each company has it's own rules concerning tickets.
Look at the dates carefully, some tickets don't have to be listed.
Here's one example from a company that's pretty strict: You must list all convictions that are on your MVR that occurred within the time frames listed.
    Wilson Logistics
    ----------------------
NO convictions from the following list in the past 3 years:
    • Speeding over 15mph
    • Following too close
    • Unsafe or erratic lane change
    • Reckless driving
    • NO more than 2 moving violations within the last 12 months.
    • NO more than 4 moving violations within the last 3 years.
    • NO license suspensions for points in the last 3 years.

Some companies want to know about tickets for using a cell phone while driving.
Read each company website carefully and fill out the applications accurately.
Sometime companies will waive some violations and criminal history.
Apply even if you don't think you qualify.

Doesn't the application ask about tickets in certain amount of years?

Have you had any moving violations in the last 3 years.
Have you had any accidents in the last 3 years.
Have you had any alcohol/drug violations in the last 10 years.

    It's different with every company.

    JR2001 Thanks this.

I got a ticket for passing a school bus in October. It was on a three lane road and I was driving in the far left lane and didn’t notice it. I went to court and no points were added against my license. Does anyone know if it would still appear on my MVR, and if that one moving violation would affect the possibility of me getting hired?

Go to the DMV and get a copy of your MVR. Anything on there you need to report. Not on there, don't worry about it.
