So I'm with this temp agency that's giving me zero hours right now and I'm looking to jump ship 'cause bills aren't going to pay themselves.
I spent 1 year, 4 - 5 months with Prime Inc., and about 3 months with MVT.
I wanted to go local, and when I hop on Indeed and Craigslist I'm seeing a TON of "2 years driving experience." I'm just barely, BARELY under that with about 1.8. Is it a really bad thing to extend the months here or there?
Just barely under 2 years of experience...

Apply with them the worst they will say is no but I would try you are pretty close
Cabinover101, Ex Primus and Badmon Thank this. -
Yup I'm with @Ridlingdj if I had to guess you got a good chance at landing something
Cabinover101 and Ex Primus Thank this. -
If a temp agency aint gonna put you to work with your skillset then skip them.
DO keep the ones that do put you to work with that skill set. Those are the ones you check back with often.
One temp is very good terms with me, all I needed to do is show up at 6:45 and we will see about a day's work for me, however my problem that its part time. The hours net pay does not yet pay the roundtrip in gasoline. I will recheck the numbers against a 11.00 minimum wage next Jan and see. If it will work then off I go making a profit. Otherwise forget it.Ex Primus Thanks this. -

If you see a carrier you like, apply! The worse they can do is round file the app. Those 2-year requirements may be something they will workaround, and they may be hard set rules set by insurance rules. If you get a no, apply again somewhere else. I am 100% positive somebody will bite! Good Luck!

Sometimes the amount of experience they list is the experience they prefer. It doesn’t mean they won’t hire someone with less.
I made it into a company that advertises they want 3 years, but it’s just what they prefer due to insurance.Badmon, Ex Primus and Cabinover101 Thank this. -
The last company I worked for before becoming an O/O had that requirement, and I only had 1.8 years experience at that time and they hired me anyway. They said their insurance company made them do it, but they lied to them and hired me.

They have to verify you worked at those companies so best to tell the truth there. How much time at the temp agency? Are you counting that too? But don't let the 1.8 stop you from applying. Put in some online apps and call them the next day to check on them. If possible go in person to some terminals.
x1Heavy and Cabinover101 Thank this.
