Keeping up with the trend of sub $1000 checks this week. We shut down due to less than ideal weather one day, and I put in a little under 8 hours on each of the other 4 days.

This week was much better due to everyone in the area catching up from bad weather the previous week. I had a bunch of extra turns out of the hub and was also kept on the dock longer most days. This meant I had to abandon my goal of working less than 8 hours a day, but the end result was well worth it. And to make this check even better, our biannual bonus was added to it.

Well, that was a pleasant surprise. Woke up and looked at the ADP app to see tomorrow’s paycheck and saw I had two deposits coming tomorrow. Upon further review, I discovered that FXF paid me the semi annual bonus I would have received had I not let the company.
Something to note, I left around the same time as my friend did, maybe 3 weeks after him. I worked through the entire 2 week notice, he said screw it and handed in his keys on a Thursday morning on his first week of his notice. I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but I have a sneaking suspicion it did.Attached Files:

I’m always looking at the transfer opportunities, both internally posted and publicly posted, in case I see some place come up that looks like I might want to live there and has nice long runs available to start. Well on Monday they posted a road driver opening in Amarillo and I was strongly considering it. Looks like ~263 miles to the nearest hub in OKC or maybe worst case a ~425 mile Denver meet or laydown. I was about ready to call them up and get some more info, but now after 2 days the position is already gone.
Someone must have really wanted that one!McUzi and LtlAnonymous Thank this. -

You never know what weird short runs they might have. I thought Odessa might have been a sweet one (despite the high cost of living) until I saw someone in the Facebook group mention they run a 330 mile laydown to Dallas. It would be hell to drive that far and then have to clock into the dock in order to make any money.Texas_hwy_287 Thanks this. -

Certain yards/regions have accelerated top outs to help in driver retention.

Haven’t posted any checks in a while because it was basically the same thing every week, but recently I’ve been doing much better. Even though many barns furloughed drivers and cut runs, I’ve been working 6 days a week for the past two months, usually doing a FedEx Ground linehaul run on Saturday. They’ve also cut my bid run one day each of the last few weeks so I could take a longer Ground run instead.
Ground is a bit tedious at times, trying to figure out on the fly how they do things, but on the bright side there’s basically no rules, so I can collect delay pay for anything and everything. Accidentally show up an hour early because Central put in the wrong times? I’m on delay until they call and tell me the trailers are closed. Show up only to be told they have no clue who I am or why I think I’m going somewhere? I’m on delay until they sort it out with Central and give me something.Attached Files:
