Trying to figure out if my pay is good.
The areas around here pay better for other flatbedder jobs. Hour range of Louisville, Bowling Green, Owensboro, Madisonville and Hopkinsville. But it's local, without crazy hours. My day rarely runs over 10.

-I don't get held up behind other trucks at customers like the other flat bedders. We pull a load semi unique to our customers.
    -conostoga
    -Internationals, trailers need help
-2nd shift runs (predominantly, for now)
-Paid per run for a set amount of hours per run (anything over gets paid for each additional hour)
    Overtime only on holidays.
    -Friendly Small company
    -Ok Benefits
17.64 an hour (typical run pays 5 hours) 2 runs a day average.
    50 hour week = $882

Demand overtime after 40 or quit local jobs should be making Elise 1000 per week after taxes.

Feds say over 40 is time and a half unless it's agricultural. They're screwing you over.

If you don't mind your company stealing 88 dollars
A week from you by not paying you time and a half,
And your happy, then stay where your at.
    That's 352 bucks a month.
    Think you could use that.

Hotplate, PE_T, stwik and 1 other person Thank this.

No they don't have to pay it but if they dont drivers will get the red ### after a while beacause Joe Blow across town pays it.
Holiday Pay should be just that , your wages times 8 to 12 hours , if you work holidays you should get your hourly pay to.
Were 18 to 26 with OT after 40 up here in Wisconsin with the bottom feeders on the lower end and no OT , theres def better out there.

A decent trucking job pays 60k to 75k. You are doing it for less than 50k. Do you consider that fair?

Depends on what else is available locally being home every day. It might not stack up to some areas pay wise, but it could be worse. You could make more OTR

But if it’s an easy gig and your happy, that’s what matters

If you were happy, would you be asking the question?

If you're just getting started in trucking that's okay. You gotta start somewhere. Everything has its tradeoffs. If you can wake up smiling, and go to sleep smiling, that's all that really matters.
