To be fair, though, she's not wrong. Ninety percent of doing this job well is rolling with the punches. It helps to have time to roll with the punches. Sucks about Dole, man.

Hell no it doesn't. If I'd have gotten Dole in my 5th month in the business I'd be the strawberry guy to this day. A tiny taste of that drama was enough, I'm happy with how things turned out in the end. Although I will say that if I'd actually have done what I just got done doing with other produce with berries I'd probably be a couple of hundred grand richer lol. Then again I'd be a couple of hundred grand richer because that's impossible, and my commodity choices are why I have no claims.

Wishful thinking is dangerous. Comparing your performance with apples to someone elses performance with oranges is pointless at best and super risky at worst. So VERY many huge business mistakes have been made because people assumed that someone else's business was just like theirs. Coke owned a movie studio at one point ffs.

Yeah the biggest difference between me and some 23 year old kid from TQL at their first job is that I'm a beast in a bad situation. I know what to do next, how it should be done, why it should be done that way, and I'll change the how as the why informs me. I almost enjoy talking about claims with other industry people because I want to figure out how I would handle that situation. And then I want to figure out where things could have been done differently to minimize the risk.

Honestly thinking about this kind of stuff is what keeps the job interesting for me. Without the new and unique challenges every week I think I'd get bored and drift away to the next thing that caught my eye.

I was trying to see how we can contest a freight guard report that we was not aware of, I am with LF,Corporation 820868, we did have a bad report from Noland reported 1/18/18 which was not true about double Brokering and a claim however cargo claim has been paid but they refuse to take it down, we never doubled broker any loads. The load with Noland was moved by one of our owner operators who only move our loads we had an internal agreement with these owner operators and no longer have owner operators only Company now. lately we have had more reports that we are not aware of like today we called on a posted load and the Broker American Freight Services said someone reported that you stole freight we have never done that and also that we held a load hostage and that has also never happened. How can we prevent negative reports that are not true that are being sent to Freight guard without our knowledge? This is a serious matter and has impacted our Company greatly would like a response on how to get this resolved.

On Carrier411, there's an option to dispute the FG. You'll need to register, if you haven't already, and then issue your rebuttal/response to the specific claim. Haven't had to do one, so I can't tell you where they're at, but I know I've read *plenty*.

As a conscientious and careful O/O should I register with carrier 411 and Freightguard? Is there a cost? I'm curious if it might be good offense in case of an issue, though I haven't had any and don't plan to.

The way i read that is your "owner operator" had their own authority but worked through you. That's double brokering. If the claim was tied into that, they wouldn't remove it.

Cost is $99/mo- which we get our money out of, and then some I'm not sure if there's a cost differential for you guys as a carrier. Nothing on the website seems to indicate that there is. It's more useful for us on our side of the market, honestly.

Thanks. It's been a busy day and I haven't Googled it yet. That's not really a justifiable cost for a single O/O. Good to know though.

I really only worry about there being reports on me out there that I have no way to see of combat. I haven't ever been told there was one but there are good days and bad days out here and some days brokers and carriers get in to it, nature of the beast. It's happened to me maybe 2-3 times, always with a cheap broker who was dishonest. I'm sure they thought the same of me.

I’m thinking about paying for one month every 6 months or one year to see what it shows for my company. I wonder if one can still issue a rebuttal even if the bad review is months old.

I am reading on Carrier411’s website that this service is not available to carriers, only brokers.
