Conestoga Flatbed Stake Pocket Moveable Step?

    Years ago I saw a pickup truck sporting a moveable side-step. The stake part was inserted into the stake pocket of the bed and the step extended about half way down along the outside of the bed. It also had a handle that extended upward from the stake that you could hold onto while you stepped up. I don't know if it was a commercial product or something the owner fabricated.

    Has anyone ever seen something similar for use with a Conestoga flatbed that could be moved from pocket to pocket for quick step-up access to the side of the load?

    I haven’t seen one with a deep enough set back to go round the conestoga track. But if you bought a standard one, I’m sure theres a way to re fabricate it. The manufacturer of them escapes me at the moment, but they are mass produced.

    A step ladder would be a whole lot more convenient in my opinion. And a whole lot cheaper.

    There are quite a few different brands. For some reason IAS are the only ladders Ive ever seen anyone use.

    I have a handy ladder that folds up to 4 ft long. It can be used as a step or a straight ladder. I forget the name of it, but it is easy to carry on a truck and just plain handy, if I just need access to the deck or the top of the load either one.
