I started posting on here the other day not knowing there was an introduction portion of the site. So, as the title states, I will be starting my CDL training soon...mid-February. I have a background in warehousing and production. With that, I understand logistics and have had many a conversation with truckers from lots of different carriers. I am also a convicted felon with 2 convictions from 2006. I have given thought to pursuing my CDL in the past, but now everything in my life is lining up just right. I will be coming off parole 03/18/20, so I’ll be free of State supervision once starting my new career coming out of school. I am open to thoughts, opinions, feedback, lessons learned, constructive criticism, and friendly banter. I come here to learn some things from men and women who have been in the business awhile. Hopefully I can avoid making some mistakes others before me have made. Anyway, this is me.
Hello.

Trucking is a great career and you'll like it. Being an ex-con, you'll wonder and be scratching your head as to why so many think trucking is so difficult.
Any ideas as to what type trucking you want and if you want to run the roads and see the country?
Probably get more responses on the "Questions From New Drivers" thread.
Is the school you plan to attend 160 hours or more? Minimum 160 hours is good; at least 160 hours.
Also, get all the endorsements. Scroll to top of this page and click on "CDL Practice Tests" and memorize as much as possible.
