That ice should get melted in the morning while the truck getting warmed, no?

 

Usually freezes blocking the line/filter completely .....

 

The company I work for won't allow us to use Howes. Maintenance director says that putting nothing in the tank is better than putting Howes in the tank. We can buy any liquid that goes in our truck on our fuel card. Additive, oil, coolant, washer fluid, hub oil, and of course diesel. But Howes can't be bought on our card. And you'll get a call if you turn in a receipt for cash reimbursement for Howes.

 

Just put a 20 dollar bottle of anti gel
In your tanks and stop trying to prove a point.
Forget all that other stuff.

I was in Minnesota at the same time.
It was 12 below where I was at.
Put that stuff in the tanks,never had a problem.

 

Not every body can follow instructions.

 

I think some additives you put if your diesel already gelled, and some of them you put so it doesn’t get gelled to begin with. Some drivers are putting the wrong stuff - read the label!

 

Had breakfast with my friend this morning before I flew out of Missoula. He did say that the Town Pumps (and Pilot/FJ) in Montana are only advertising their blend down to 0 degrees this year. It used to be good to -20. But as far as he knew none of their trucks have had any issues. I do know they run the heated Davco filters. Straight #1 is usually available at all of their locations so you could blend your own if you wanted to.

Yes. Separate 6 gallon tank for kerosene.
