First of all, these are all very good and important responses and I appreciate every one of them. @ moose... I appreciate the response and I still have to read the rest to write an appropriate response. However I don’t understand what you mean. Why did I leave? I leave after every time I dump the trailer of sawdust. I was just hauling there. I’m not trying to be sarcastic I’m just trying to understand. I was there every two hours like clockwork. I didn’t do anything wrong leaving, I was just going to get the next load.
In regards to the comment of haven’t other drivers complained, they absolutely have. I’m definitely not the only one. It’s making all of us have longer waits, not just me. There is too much for me to read and process right now, but everything is good advice which I do appreciate a lot.
I am still driving for the same company that had the overfill/tarp issues. They are great people and I love the company. It was the mill I was hauling from dropping the ball there, not my company. Since then the mill actually apologized and hasn’t done it since, and the couple times they have they take it down in the log yard and knock it down so I’m able to tarp it. Very respectful. I will miss that haul if I’m not able to save it. I will still be with the company, just not on that haul.
Where do I go from here?

@REO6205 was dead-on right with his communication comments. I don't know what has happened but it seems today that everybody is talking at the same time and nobody is listening. Just the other day at the VA hospital I heard an exchange between a desk clerk and a veteran. Sitting there listening I took notice of the fact both were right, but both were not listening to the other. Finally, another person in the office got involved and the situation was fixed.
If the other drivers are also having issues then it is a fair bet the other truck owners are aware and are trying to do something. In these kinds of situations GO SPEAK to the "boss" before you do or say anything. An OTR driver can sometimes get by with alienating someone like this. A local driver that deals with these stops on a daily basis can't for long. Get angry, count to 10, take a deep breath, go do an inspection of your truck, JUST don't peeve off the customer EVEN IF YOU ARE RIGHT! If you feel like you can't handle the situation contact the "boss" and get their guidance! -

U are a better man than me. I wouldve cussed the plant out after calling me a liar and disrespecting me , not to mention lying to my boss when he was there to see it . And when my boss wouldnt speak up for me and have my back i will burn that bridge to. It is not worth having relationships where there is no mutual respect. I understand its business but there has to be mutual respect as well, not everything is about money. There is always other gigs to find . Good luck to u

If I am understanding this story. The OP got rightfully irritated by someone who was not doing their job correctly. (not stated but can be assumed) Many other drivers most likely were also getting miffed. Somebody else approached this other person (????) and the OP caught the blame. Looks like the OP was banned and the "boss" has to honor the request. (not stated but can be assumed) This "boss" is working on his level to find a solution. This is critical because you can count on other drivers to be getting a bit hot as well. I suspect at some point this "employee" will be removed. If they are allowing trucks to back up like this the whole plant suffers. This is why @REO6205 has counseled communication and I have patience!
Getting angry every time you have a righteous reason just gets you or your company in trouble. I mentioned a situation in this thread where I suffered because of an adverse reaction another company driver made. Just sitting here writing I could mention maybe a dozen situations where I was told either a company driver was banned or your warned step out of line and you will have trespassed. I even had a guy at the Hershey's Midwest warehouse near St Louis to "lose" my bills. Another person working there told me he hated all WSE drivers. I wish some times that drivers would give some thought when they say things. This same concept can also be applied to Police officers and DOT COPs. I once was hit hard by a DOT COP in Missouri. That guy went over me, my legals and my bills with a magnifying glass. held me up for close to 2 hours. I later found out another company driver had cursed him. Thankfully I got through it with my virginity intact. To this day I think if I could find out who that person was i would have a long heart to fist talk about using tact.homeskillet, MACK E-6 and copperdome Thank this. -
I have an update on the situation. I, as of tomorrow, am trading places with another driver in the company. It seems to be a win win situation. The haul he has pays just as much, potentially more, I have covered this run before and I don’t need trained on it. The other driver also likes my run better anyway, and was doing it before I came along.
The newest driver (who covered my haul Friday when all this occurred) was going to be temporarily covering my haul, but he is just waiting for the pipeline to fire back up and he only wanted part-time anyway. I suggested to the owner this solution, and he is going with it. It makes 3 of his employees happy at once.
Even though some might think “no harm, no foul” - I would still like to see a resolution at the charcoal plant. If I am under a ban at the charcoal plant for life (just looking ahead) then that knocks me out of a lot of local hauls should anything happen in the future.
I feel I should still pursue this to some extent. It’s the principle of the thing. When I am wrong I am wrong, and I can list several times I have been believe me. However, to accuse me of something that didn’t occur, tarnishes my reputation and affects future jobs for me for life.
I feel like at the very least they should give me the human decency of reviewing their cameras to see what did/didn’t happen. They at least owe me explaining their side. Even if it does not change anything as far as being banned, I want them to review their footage and at the very least I believe the dozer operator who made that report needs reprimanded at the very least for making a false report.Woodys Thanks this. -
I recommend you follow the words found in Matthew 10:14
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Ask them once more. Then move on, they are not worth further time. Let some time pass and maybe your "boss" can fix this.clausland Thanks this. -
If the Cat operator is a newbie, he may improve over time, sometimes you need to be patient, he may or may not come up to speed, we all got to start somewhere.
If the operator is truly incompetent I would think your company rep is the one to make your concerns known to and if you are your own rep then deal directly with the customer's management. -
copperdome Thanks this.
