How do I use uShip to get loads? Is there any way to actually call, e-mail, or visit the shipper, or do I have to submit a quote and wait for a response?

Are there any other sites like uShip where I could get similar loads that'll fit in a motorcoach cargo hold? If I have to run for passengers anyway, putting freight aboard would greatly improve profits. I'd load the freight separate from passengers to avoid angering passengers with freight delays.

You submit a quote and await a response. You may have better luck if you ask a question to the shipper via uShip, but uShip does not allow you to contact the shipper directly until they have accepted your quote.

Most shippers on uShip will just let the bidding time run out and go with the lowest bidder, so if you are trying to get something loaded in a short amount of time, I would not waste your time bidding on anything that doesn't end as soon as you need it to.

They also have 24 hours or so after bidding ends to make up their mind, and about 50% of the loads I bid on don't even go. The shippers are just shopping for a price.

uShip gives the shipper an "estimated" price, which is absolute garbage 99.95% of the time.

    Swadian Thanks this.

So it seems like uShip is largely a waste of time. Are there any other websites better than this uShip?

U ship will not allow the exchange or phone#’s or emails to communicate outside of Uship until an accepted bid. But you can send messages through Uship.
The good shippers communicate and ask questions....how firm on the pickup and delivery dates, or how much would it take to accept the bid, do I really need “x” type of trailer, etc.
I have never been the hauler through u ship but I have shopped quite a bit and in those situations the bid was always submitted and accepted prior to expiring from haulers reaching out to me via Uship and we worked out an acceptable price before they submitted a bid...once it was submitted I accepted the bid.

Is Uship even worth the aggrevation? I browsed it once for ####s n giggles. I'd be taking a huge loss hauling that crap in the bed of my half-ton.

Is there anywhere better to get work that isn't so aggravating?

According to `Shipping Wars` you bid to see who doesn't want to make money the worse.

What's an alternative you'd suggest? For smaller parcel loads?

I would think that you could make uship work. Some of it can be good and some of it can be bad......welcome to life.

For those that think otherwise can you confirm you tried using uship or are you one those that have negative things to say in general?
