You could also run the truck around a little bit on A dealer plate with out registering it.
You wouldn’t however be able to haul freight on a dealer plate though.brian991219 and Dr. Balbarian Thank this. -

You have to read what I am doing with it before jumping to any conclusion. I am not hauling anything commercial, am not for hire and nothing in board is for hire.

Must be nice to drive a tandem tractor for personal use on a regular car license. Wouldn't happen this side of the border.......

@AModelCat you cant hear either. They cracked down on RV registration about 2011-12. If the the trailer has a capacity over 9,999.00lbs. You need class A cdl. If it's for profit, I.E. racing or business you need operating authority.
Now farm with a exempt commodity, that's pretty loose. But cant cross state lines.
Jegs Racing got popped for over length and weight going to Michigan about 2011 on RV tag. We towed thier trailer the rest of the year to a few races in Michigan because of it. IRS sees racing as for profit not hobby.
I cant site all the rules, because I haul commercially for hire. But to the OP, I can put you in touch with a firm that will give you every answer you want.
Minimum if your have sold and then transporting the cars, its interstate commerce and you require a Us Dot number. -
Not true sir.
While they have cracked down on the definition of commerica, if you are Truly non-commercial you do not need a CDL. I agree with 99.9% of what you stated, but you do not need a cdl, IF you are non commercial and defining non-commercial correctly. First, nothing on board can be sale. Second, you can’t be hauling anything that doesn’t belong to you. Third the equipment can not be used to transport anything that is used for commercial purposes...your racing reference is an excellent example of where it would be considered for commercial use and you compete for prize money. And finally nothing on board is for sale.
This is my rig...not plated as a RV and not farm use. It is a toy hauler for the family....converted to haul golf carts, motorcycles, etc in the rear and an RV in the front...trailer is plated as a trailer, not an RV.Attached Files:

So you didn't read all my post. Your not operating in interstate commerce? Then your right and I don't understand your question?
-
Ya I guess I didn’t understand what you were stating. I had to read it three times and agree with what you saying there.
But , the beginning of your post is not correct....
You can drive a tractor trailer for personal use on nothing more than a regular car license. -
jamespmack Thanks this.
