Its hourly, more of a slow race. Ive done temp contract work driving both of their trucks, there dogs on both sides, but hourly, does not matter.

Pay rate also varies with duty assignment, I do the shuttles alot for both, It's gravy all drop and hook no touching product ever. Back in hook, pretrip and go. Yes you always pretrip looking for damage that you make sure you get pictures of even old damage so you don't catch the heat for something another driver has done, remember your hourly no reason to skip anything, do complete inspections, that's what they are paying you to do. Make sure the load is secure. Just do your job don't worry about what other drivers are doing, just worry about your own.

So far I got a call from the driver manager for my area, to expect the offer letter, received the offer and accepted it. So now I'm not sure how long to wrap it up.

You want to stay away from those guys or any other company where you’re constantly lifting heavy cases. When I was a local, I would speak to those guys while waiting in line to deliver. I remember hearing that it was common for these drivers to develop back problems to the point that they would need surgeries.

Sometimes you gotta start somewhere, so give them one year, and then move to a different local company like Sysco, US Foods, Core Mark, etc.

Oh, I don't lift anything, open the door and check for C02 canisters, but the dock hands load and unload, I just drop n hook. Store guys do all the lifting.
