Not that wise. Only been on the road 2 years. Still at times fumbling through it. Just throwing a few tid bits I've picked up. Others on this forum offered me encouragement when I worried about getting started so I'm just returning the favor how I can. It's been a great career so far, had fun, and made some good money.

The vast majority of what I have learned about trucking have been on these forums. You will learn those who are the real "old hands" pretty fast and pay attention to what they have to say. It will put you miles ahead of other people with your same experience. I come here every day and read mostly unless I have a lot driving.
1 hour a day of reading works wonders. The "New Drivers" section is where I spend most of my time for general reading/learning. There a few forums for entertainment like the "Rants" section. Also a few forums like "shippers and receivers" I found have been good for reality checks in helping to understand a few of the uglier parts of trucking.
Also the forums are really good for learning the good companies from the bad.dwells40 and WakeUpTheEchoes Thank this. -

I play those games as well. I cannot wait for Cyberpunk 2077. It's embarrassing how many games I have played. BUT at least I can say that I've never neglected work. It's a genuine free time hobby only.
The games I get into most are player vs player though because I like the added competitive nature. The games feel harder and there's more at stake when you lose... which makes winning and losing more emotional.
