I got the lowdown on Shipex by reading the Google reviews. It's bad...anyone who doesn't believe can go read the reviews themselves.
To summarize:
1) Management talks down to drivers and treats them like garbage
2) Ownership and management are racist
3) They have a minimum pay but do everything they can not to pay it.
4) Shipex doesn't allow trucks to chain up but forces shutdowns at the first sign of snow- then complains that a driver doesn't do 550 mile a day quota.
5) That's right! Quota for drivers is 550 miles a day. Everyday.
6) Low pay- $975 a week for living in a truck away from family.
7) Extremely high turnover of drivers .
8) Drivers who stay are miserable.
9) Very poor safety record which includes 1 fatality.
10) New drivers are coerced to go on Google and leave a 5 star rating. They are told so in orientation. Drivers who don't are made miserable.
The above is what I gleaned from perusing the reviews and checking the FMCSA site.
It's all there. If anyone doesn't believe me look yourself.
Have a nice day.

One thing that stands out is the racist card..lol omg..so over that bs. Say what want, The company is decent but it's not perfect. I love it here! -

It’s always funny seeing people who never have worked for a company emphatically spout off about reviews from the disgruntled.....the problem is you’re look at the disgruntled.
You’re listening to other people but have zero first hand knowledge, and the majority of that is #########.
For one, here:
Not one phone call about my miles this week, or any other week and I don’t run 550 a day. There’s some days I run 700, some days I run 300, and they don’t bother me. Could be cause I’ve already said don’t tell me how to run my clock......or I’ve not been here long enough, who knows.
For two:
Lookie, driving on snow ❄️
No chains, I don’t chain and never will
If the roads require chain, I don’t need to be driving on the and taking my ### anywhere, not even around the corner, period, too much work, efffff that noise.
Third:
Low viz thick fog. On each of those occasions, I shut down for safety and not one single thing was said to me, and if it would have been, I’m gone, and they can find someone else.
Most of what you read is BS, and I know this because I work here and just gave you three examples of items you saw a “review” formushroom1464, atruckr, Vic Firth and 4 others Thank this. -
Here's some bs..just drove 700 miles..they won't let me pc until my 14 is expired..wait 2 more hours so I can sleep and one hour of my break will be driving to the truck stop.
TokyoJoe Thanks this. -
Looks like another one year company..when will these idiots learn?

Quoting google reviews doesnt compare to talking with actual shipex drivers. I have talked to 3 so far and all were very happy there. I do have a friend.of a friend that was fired from shipex. He claims he was terminated because he wasnt getting the required.550 miles a day but he says he couldn't because of bad weather...really believe there was more to the story though.
atruckr, Lonesome, Upinsmoke and 1 other person Thank this. -
Forgot one thing...
11) All the trucks are bugged with microphones and cameras. They watch everything you do and hear everything. They have special employees hired whose only purpose is to 'spy' on drivers.
That's it! That's the lowdown on Shipex. Read the reviews and go to the FMCSA site.Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
mushroom1464, Swedish Chef, atruckr and 5 others Thank this.
