Yup. We get it. Food service wasn't for you. Plenty of people feel differently though, you know.

Get in, get a couple years under the belt and move on. I did food service for 17 years and it tore my body up.
localguy65 and Mike2633 Thank this. -
I’ve been at US Foods here is Southern California almost 5 months. Benefits are incredible for the family. Pay is great. Hard work obviously. I will probably move on just after a year. I can tell it’s going to mess my body up unless I stretch for an hour every single day. Even then it’s hard to recover. No what I’ll do next. I have doubles and hazmat so I have options...

I made just over 74400 last year and worked 2430 hours last year. Guys that run shuttles don’t make as much money because the work is easier. Some new guys end up there because they aren’t fit enough to run a cart all day. Older guys end up there because your body does wear out. If your headed to food service get in decent physical shape. 50 percent of our hires can’t do the physical work and end up quitting. Their hart is in it but it’s just to much. Figure your gonna lift .at least 20000 pounds a day.
