Good looking truck. If you have a Paccar drivetrain I agree with your sentiment. Recently got stuck in a 2020 579 with a 12 speed auto, this thing couldn't get out of it's own way on a good day, it drives me up a wall.

Granted, I have driven both auto and manual transmissions and prefer manual overall, but the Mack I was in for a short time before this Pete was an auto shift also (Mack MP7 with mshift trans) and it was a difference of night and day, that one was a beast compared to this one I am in now.

####, everyone is driving these great looking trucks. I'm never going to be posting a picture of my dumpy little company day cab on here, it would be embarrassing....

Yes I agree, this Eaton trans shifts really slow. The main thing I don’t like is it makes it difficult trying to back up in a tight spot and get really close to something. The clutch is pretty much on or off, you can’t ease into it like you can with a manual.

    Still undecided Thanks this.

I had a guy describe it as you can't just roll back like a manual, clutch out but no throttle.

He hated the auto because you had to step on the pedal to make it back up at all.....Penske's substitute trucks are all autos here....

Correct, you have to keep you left foot on the brake and kind of double pedal to back up slowly. But if you press the brake too hard than the clutch disengages. It can be very frustrating

I have to admit i have driven some nice trucks but i have also driven some not so nice trucks. Here is a pic of one of the smaller ones. Yes, it's a Pete but the back seat of my Nissan SUV is bigger than the sleeper in this thing.

What’s your empty weight with that? And it’s clean, that’s the important part.
