One of the bad things about relay, you depend on the other truck and driver.

I'm in Sacramento, CA, lucky me.

Even with the home time request for Monday I am not getting loads east.
The first, which I turned down, was delivering in Los Angeles on Monday. A whole 400 miles for the weekend.

The second, which I accepted, was just a little better.
It also delivers Monday, but in Pasco, WA. Almost 700 miles, which is still very low for an entire weekend.
But from there I will probably get a load out of Lewiston, ID headed east. I have had many from Lewiston going to MN or IL for home time loads from that general area.

the driver I switch trailers with been her for 18 yrs. he says u less they close the 70 he will chain to get here. If they close , we meet on i40 at Arizona and New Mexico border.
this is the one downside of this run is depending on the other driver.
I try to get here b4 him since he wants to get back to Salina if he has the hrs.
He usually shows up between 1800 to 2200.
my drive is 8 hrs and I usually get here around 1700.
I dont deal with that much snow like he does. so I won't complain too much lol

I couldn't/wouldn't do it. I like my simple solo OTR too much.

In my younger years, maybe. I used to be more flexible with my hours - before trucking that is.
Before HOS and logging every move I make.

I was once a floater at a security company. On call 24/7 with 2 hours notice, and nothing about hours worked or off. Go when and where needed, no questions asked.
    And at near minimum wage.

Swift is lucky to have you, considering what you sometimes have to put up with.

    Montrose CO.

All this time ive never done Pueblo to Montrose on US50. Found out how twisty the bugger is unfortunately with student in the seat. I took over when his hours ran down in Gunnison. (Again super solo.) The roads were dry so that helped. Im kind of a little annoyed at this time cause we keep hitting mountain grades light as a feather. Need a heavy load to really learn him anything.

Spotted a heard of Elk west of Gunnison CO.

Deliver the last promaster in the morning in Grand Junction and Then come back to Montrose for lumber. And boogie down to Yuma. Student is past his first 50 now, so i have my clock in reserve again.

This is for the owner operators here who opted in on the Swift owner misclassification class action lawsuit that was settled in our favor.

A final court hearing had been scheduled in Phoenix this Wednesday to settle any remaining objections and allow release of the funds. I emailed the attorney/claims administrator this morning to see if the hearing happened and what, if any, the ruling was. Their reply:

"Thank you for your email. Final approval has been granted to the settlement. We hope to mail checks by early Spring. If you have not received your check by the end of March, you should give us a call back at that time."

Bear in mind, the attorney's office is in Tallahassee, FL so early spring for them is sometime this month as it is here in South Texas.

Also, I'd like to thank all you owners who opted out of the lawsuit (wtf were you thinking!?) because that means my cut will be more than the original estimate of $6423.

Rolling Hills Chevron in Corning, CA.

Very short day today. I had a live load in Sacramento at 1700. This load doesn't deliver until Monday morning in Pasco, OR, so lots of time.
Stopped here so I could do a little gambling.

No luck with the gambling. I guess that is why it is called gambling.

Tonight I am next to another small casino in OR along US 97.
Not chancing it this time, as I have tried this place before. In and out in 15 minutes and $40 gone.
At least at Rolling Hills it took nearly an hour to lose $50.
(Ya, I am not a high roller. I go in with a little, and either win or lose quickly.)

The last time I stopped here I had no internet. This time it is good enough to stream Netflix and Hulu.
T-Mobile has improved things in many areas that were very spotty a year or three ago.
