So I drive a Cascadia with the DEA500 radio. Often times there are "traffic information" radio stations (ie 1610 AM), but I'm unable to tune directly to that frequency. The radio seeks to only strong signals and won't let me tune the frequency up or down one interval at a time. Happens on FM, too.

Any suggestions? What button am I not hitting? (I've hit them all, but you know, maybe I'm not holding my tongue just right.)

Those radios are great. Listening to phone on normal volume via Bluetooth. Shut off truck, phone disconnects; deafening static upon starting truck.

This was the ticket! I thought I'd held it down long enough, but ####, you gotta hold it down for like 3 entire seconds just to switch the frequency 1 time. That's a dumb design. It should be the other way around. Single press to tune one frequency at a time, hold it down to scan.

    Thanks for your help!

I have the same radio. You can choose what the "tune up" and "tune down" buttons do. The default is a quick press scans to next station above a signal strength setting. You can either change the setting by pressing the multi-function knob and digging through the setting. Or you can press and hold the tune button for a few seconds and it will jump 1/10th of a frequency. For example, move from 89.1 to 89.2. In the setting you can reverse that behavior where each press would cause freq to change by 1/10 unless you press & hold which would scan to next sttong station.

Ready, push and hold volume knob til it says “speakers” then turn knob til it says “ tune CFG” then hit volume knob once and it will say “ tune auto” then turn volume knob one click til it says “ tune manual “ then hit volume knob once. You’re in manual

Whenever my truck starts it restarts the radio and automatically goes to the wx channel at the volume I had whatever I was listening to last. Is there a way to set the default source on power up?
