Well, I know if I had an accident with other vehicles, I would be calling anybody I could. I didn't think I would have to immediately report an incident like this after hours. I guess I'm wrong?

I vote for deer strike. Wipe all of the yellow paint off the truck. Then call it in.

Just tell them exactly what happened. I do t get why people would lie! Lying takes away credibility, especially if you're caught lying.

The thing is, there is no way I can cover this up, wouldn't try to. Also, I wouldn't lie about it, I don't have the company policy memorized. I only know that I feel like crap about it. It's such a stupid thing that happened, now I know I'll get fired from the last few messages, because I didn't say something immediately... So I better start planning how I'm getting home

A couple years ago, I did a dumb move and left my wet kit engaged after cleaning behind the switches, and the hoses weren't hooked up. Took off to go do a job. Got to the job, looked next to my seat and saw the red light was on. ####! Ruined the hydraulic pump on the transmission. Called the boss immediately. He said "Oh well. I've done it myself. When you get to the shop, we'll put on a new one." No repercussions, because I have credibility. When I do make a booboo, I say something immediately.

You can call weekend dispatch and see who to report it to. That way no one will think you are trying to hide/cover up or not report it.

Incident, accident or whatever are simply feel good words. It's to make one feel better after they were in a wreck. At least be honest with yourself and call it what it is.

That said, the wreck you were in should be reported asap. Call any and all numbers you have to see if you can get a hold of them.
In either case, when you do get a hold of them, be sure to get a night/weekend emergency number for future reference.

LoSt_AgAiN and Crude Truckin' Thank this.
