While we are at it, get out and take pictures. Of your truck, of the pole, where it was placed, was it visible, to close to the building? etc... Then have a point of contact for the pole owner. Did you do these things? If not, why not? Bee, taking off safety cap now.

Yes, I did those things... I'm just going to take the truck back to the terminal and find a way home, because from the way it sounds, since I didn't call immediately, they will probably fire me. I'm just hoping that they don't keep both my last checks

Let them fire you before you decide today that you don't have a job. I day at a time.

Call now and see what happens. One step at a time. Nobody on this thread knows. It's all speculation. Let us know

I'm going to get flamed, but Do not think for a minute being honest about it works out, I would not tell them anything, I tried the honest bit, would have been better to say nothing. If your a sleeper driver wait for the next truckstop, tell them about when your off duty, happened while you were taking a shower, don't know who or how. Remember Off Duty, Relieved of All Responsibility. Your still telling them it got damaged just don't take the fall.

He probably has yellow paint on the truck from hitting the pole. I tend to believe that most people are stupid, just not everybody.

If they fire me then, that's the only blemish on a perfect record I've kept since 2010. I'm sure I can get another job, i hope, lol

I'll be going to the pawn shop nearest to the yard, sell my Chromecast tv and my 9mm, cause I can't travel with them. Pick and choose from what's left and hit the bus terminal in St Louis and book a trip to Atlanta

Did you get fired? If not you are putting the cart before the horse.

Haven't you heard of other drivers at your company getting into an accident? I personally think you need to take a deep breath and relax. If you have been driving for them for over a year and this is your only accident/incident I don't see them firing you.

I know of drivers that have accidents and didn't get fired. Just my 2 cents
