I was just thinking awhile ago coming down 80 how there are so many people that just hate trucking.

I'm certain that contributes to the crash rate. But if they just hate driving truck, why do it????

Because the bar to getting into driving a truck has been set so low that it's the only thing many of them can get hired to do.

They’re too dumb to do anything else, or too fat.

I got up Thursday morning to do my PTI in Carson, and there was a guy parked about 50 feet away from me ask to borrow my tire thumper.

Said he left the house in a rush and forgot his, LOL, this guy had to be at least 400 pounds and was in no rush to do anything if you get my drift.

See here's some automation that would work. If he had to hit a sensor as he walked around the truck, and when he got to the last one, a compartment opened and a can of Pringles slid out, he'd be one of the best pre trippers ever.

I use a 2.5lb hammer so I could see myself getting it out to use it as an actual hammer. as to why I use that hammer, easier to feel a difference in pressure when the tires are colder.. got a gauge if I am suspicious of a tire.

    D.Tibbitt and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Honestly...I dont have a tire stick. I gauge the truck and a slap the trailer with the palm of my hand. You can hear the difference if you're paying attention. I've heard about people getting hit by their own hammers, though...LoL
