Hi and welcome to the site, and good luck in your new venture. All I can say is keep trying and dont give up if it's what you really want to do. Most companies are being being picky about who they hire because there are so many drivers with lots of experience out there looking for jobs right now, and most companies want that experience. Best is probably the companies who have taining programs. There are some good links on this site for jobs and google trucking jobs. That is about all I can tell you.

That will help you if applied correctly...say what you mean, mean what you say,...and don't be mean saying it.

This specifically applies to dispatchers/fleet managers.

    Welcome to the forum.

I gotta ask, are your kids ages in months, or years? Either way, be sure you fully understand the effects of driving can have on a family. You will be away for long periods of time, and no company, despite what your recruiter says, can guarantee when you will be home. The freight determines all. Understand that you may miss birthdays, graduation, games, all that. This is part of the price we (for the most part) happily pay to do what we love. If you cannot be away from your kids that long, fight for a local job. Remember, the best local companies to work for typically don't advertise, so pound that pavement. They may have experience requirements, but I've heard that persistance can pay off, too. Be careful, and be sure of what YOU want. I'm out!

Just keep plugging away at it. Don't take no for an answer, especially if it's an outfit you really want to work for. Persistence pays in this industry.
