You could run super singles on the trailer and probably save a good chunk of weight.

    Maybe 1000lbs for all corners?

It's fine for fleets. But first time you have a blow out you will buy a rim and possible crossmembers. If you carry a spare, you just lost your weight savings.

I mean sure. But how far ya willing to go to save some weight?

I heard the horror stories with em. Run a tire inflation system and do more thorough load checks than I do and I’m sure you’ll be alright.

I will save weight elsewhere. They dont belong in the northern half of the country. The tire inflation systems are the cats butt for a large fleet with alot of dropped trailers. I how ever can justify the money for a single truck operation. If I'm out of my seat, Im looking at the tires every time I walk by one. I thump them numerous times a day. And my gauge is allways to the left of my seat. Really its pretty cheap to keep up on your tires.

Agreed on the super singles! Got talked into that, guy I knew said I’d save almost a gallon a mile, which turned into bull####, and had a few blow outs, cost me more in the long run

I have a `20 Pete 579 with a 53` step at the moment and I’m 30500 full tanks. More equipment than I need

Ya I just pulled my steel fifth wheel off, flipped it over and greased everything up good on it. It didn't weigh anywhere near that kind of weight unless I'm a whole lot stronger than I realize lol.

I have the Hendrickson Tire Maxx Pro inflation system on my trailers, 6-1/2 years old now. Still works great. Never lost a tire.
Works fine at -40 up here in Canada.
