relay driver finally got here at 2000 last nite.
his truck is still doing the same thing.. but he got here.
He headed back to s alinas and said if it still debating when he gets up today he will call onroad.
So next week doesn't sound promising since he is taking thurs and Friday off.
this load going to Azusa and will see if they will take it today. thus place is a hit and miss. one time they take it early another they dontFerrissWheel Thanks this. -
jurupa terminal.
drove to the final and they were all closed up. so text my dl and he put a tcall on the load. should have done that in the 1st place.
btw... appt was for tomorrow morning and I am off. so thought I deliver it early.
though on the paperwork it said appt was yesterday.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Lewiston terminal.
I had a paper load picking up here in town (on the 29th, and today is the 27th) headed to WI, for about an hour.
Then it was rescheduled for about 10 days out, so I got rid of that one.
The next one sent is picking up tomorrow in Grangeville, ID and going to Oklahoma City.
The fuel route is a bit wonky though.
Grangeville is 70 miles south of Lewiston on US 95, and the fuel route shows me on I-90 right after that. I-90 is no where near there and I think it would add several hundred miles to my route to go that way.
Not sure why US 95 south down to I-84 and east was not sent, but that is how I plan to go. Unless someone can tell me why/how I-90 is better. -
Fontana CA terminal.
Pick up a load tomorrow in Riverside CA going to chicago by Thursday. (Said concrete forms which could mean bloody anything.)
Student now backing without instructions from me. Though i do supervise just in case.
If i rember correctly that stretch of US95 you need a permit for. @Moosetek13
Went up there years ago with a student to a grocery store in Mccall ID. And seem to recall sinage stating you needed a permit for that stretch of US95 somewhere close to McCall. Which would explain why the QC would route you around. @Moosetek13
I may be confusing it with ID55 but idk. In any case i do not recommend US12 all the way back to 90. Id chance it with US95 in anycase. Just check IDs road restrictions real careful.Moosetek13 Thanks this. -

Thanks FerrisWheel.
I have the map, along with the permit. My current permit is good until April.
One stretch also requires tandems to be all the way forward, no matter the weight, for the tight turns.
Swift has routed me that way before, and I took it once heading north just to check it out.
Not really a fun drive so I usually go around the longer way when heading into or out of Lewiston.
But in this case, since I will be 70 miles south of Lewiston when I start out, it seems the only way to get an on time delivery.
Even so it may not be possible to deliver it on time. There is snow both north and south of there, so I might get delayed in either direction. I am not willing to drive that road in bad conditions.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
And I just checked the DOT info.
Cameras show some bad weather already there at 2230, and more south of there.
It is only supposed to last through tomorrow, so I may be stuck here for a day until it clears up.FerrissWheel Thanks this.
