It evaporates some sure, but the moisture has no place to go with the air pressure preventing it from moving upstream. When the ice in the valve melts, it will create a pathway for some moisture to escape downstream.. until it collects in the next bottleneck.

I am like the last person to ask about transmissions. They either operate at temperature and pull when I require them to or destroy itself or the final drive. All or nothing. I know a little of how they work etc but I am like the last person on the planet to be thinking deep into those #### infernal things. As much as I cuss em they sure held up good except in very rare cases in conditions that are what I consider extremes.

Any relation to the old Harbor Shop in Baltimore? Ive been to two shops down that way in my time. I remember the Harbor one better.

I am guessing it is a FRO 210 series trans. Shift bar housing has to come off to reseal range spool piston and to inspect synchronizer. It can be done in chasis on select chasis, but it is a PITA.
