That was exactly what I was always told never to do. Obviously you haven't had any issues doing it that way.

 

Maybe your misunderstanding me. Bottom ring gap directly above wrist pin on left then top ring gap directly above wrist pin on right.....should of been more clear on it ! LOL

 

Ah OK! Basically gaps all go inline with the crank, 180 degrees of each other.

Yeah, that's a simpler way I could of said it !!! LOL DUH !!

 

Also @ AModelCat if it isn't to late check ring gap in liners before you stick them on pistons. And if you don't already know, there is a top side of rings when you put them on pistons. New rings will have top marked on them you can see if yer eyesight is good.

 

They came pre-assembled from CAT. Wouldn't be hard to take them off and check before dropping them in.

 

If it were me I would.

Yep, keep ring gap away from the ends of the wrist pin.....

 

You align yours with the end of the wristpins?
