    Hello,
My wife and I have traveled together allot on vacations and trips, we together make a
awesome team, except she does not want to get a CDL.
I was wandering if anybody could tell me if W/S allows for a wife as a rider right after 10 day orientation?

I think you will find you can have a rider after your 90 day probationary period.

I'm think of buying a truck and leasing on with Watkins Shepard. Are they a good outfit for an O/O?

Danc your right the times are now hard, and the drivers rates are suffering. Don't get me wrong I'm not in no way arguing that; It's when u have yes men on here with no bills telling me be grateful suck it up it's the best you can get.
Man I'm so anxious too get down south I can feel the humidit. My problem is yours trust me I don't think I could be over the road sitting and doing west coast regional while my wife is sleeping in the dark.
You could live off of .50 cpm in the new york area but your aptment would be as big as an walk in closet plus bills.
My piont is I definitely hear you I apprieciate the words with the circumstances; but I feel the same way u do when it comes to otr.

Scud, I just switched over to their flatbed division and I heard that they were only hiring O/O's for flatbed right now.. there was one company driver who switched to flatbed because of that reason.. just FYI

Been a while since I got on the forums here, will try to get back more often now.. Just an update as I stated in the previous post I switched over to the flatbed division and have been liking it so far, even after having to tarp my load in Phoenix in the 105+ heat. The dispatchers seem really cool so far.

First week out got nearly 3000 miles in 5 days, from Missoula to Phoenix, then back north to Spokane. I would still be running but I had to shut it down in Spokane to deal with some "legal" issues in Idaho that I made a mistake on.. oops. lol

Anyways, I hope you're all doing well.. be safe out there.

Just wanted to thank you for pointing out to the entire forum what happens when you fail to finish school.

People have to read the post for you, then type your responce.

Since I no longer work for W&S, and I have 3 times your experience. Two points you obviously missed, or couldn't read. What does it say to a prospective student or experienced driver when I say they are a good company?

Not everyone is in this business to "get rich". Some of us are perfectly happy, making a living.

And I live quiet well in my paid for house, driving my paid for car. Spending my money on whatever I please.

While you sit around pissing and moaning about your check not being enough.:biggrin_25522:
