I pointed (in what I thought was a polite, playful manor) out that you were playing games by stating gross revenue without taking into account expenses.
If you count health insurance, 401k, and vacation, then Schneider is paying its vtl driver between 30-35% of the gross revenue per truck - on average.
I'm not trying to be coy but giving an accurate count of drivers is difficult. Do you count those in training? Those on Workers Comp/fmla? Drivers who have quit but haven't told anyone? Drivers we are in the process of firing? Are IC trucks counted or not? What about part time drivers slip seating? I'm doing a dedicated start up right now, but am still classified OTR so if we added up drivers I would be listed twice.
Rough math we have about 11,000 drivers with eld logins. That includes about 100-200 in house trainers/office workers.
Should Schneider pay more? Yes.
Should Schneider not have pissed away money on port logistics and final mile? Yes.
Should Schneider have focused on it's bulk division? Yes
Should Schneider train drivers better? Yes, and if they did driver retention would be better.
We have all seen the threads and news articles about guys parking thier trucks, suspending their authority, etc. The last 18 months has not been good for the transportation industry as a whole. Some have done just fine, some have done well, many have failed. Schneider is in the "doing okay" category. Implying that gross revenue per truck being 3 times average driver pay means schneider is stealing from drivers is dishonest.Opus Thanks this. -
The money they steal in per diem more than pays for health insurance.
And your accounting was based on a 2500 mile a week figure, per truck which is absurd. -
So you'd need to have a $23,000 investment to make $280 dollars. -
Wikipedia says 11,650 company drivers. But 19,500 employees.
Almost 1 support staff per driver.
Things that make you go hmmmmmm.jsnell Thanks this. -

some reason why this drivers thread about his experience needs hijacked to this degree by you ####ers?
what was the point in posting company positions in an IC thread? if you can be of help to this driver , fantastic. more than just him can be helped. if your purpose is to slag on SNI, have at it. just do HIM the respect of doing it elsewhere.Tyreman, Sirscrapntruckalot and plynnjr92 Thank this. -
